Bengalla is proud to be a long term member of the Upper Hunter Valley community and is committed to the future.
Our contribution to the area extends beyond the immediate economic benefits of our business. We invest in the communities surrounding our operation through donations, sponsorships and partnerships to build stronger and more sustainable communities.
Since the commencement of the mine Bengalla has worked to build enduring relationships built on mutual respect and long term commitments and continues to be an active member of the local community.
Bengalla is committed to working closely with the local community to keep them informed about its operation. One way in which it engages with the community is through regular Community Consultative Committee (CCC) meetings. At these meetings local community stakeholders, representatives of government departments, and Bengalla staff discuss environmental management, mine development and performance and community partnerships first hand.
Over the past 16 years, we awarded 85 scholarships to graduates of Muswellbrook High School near the Bengalla Mine, including students whose parents work at the mine, because our communities are our family.
