Environmental Management

Environmental management is an integral part of Bengalla’s operations. We work to prevent and manage the potential and actual environmental impacts from our mining activities. This includes coal mining, coal handling and processing, construction and all the support services associated with our business.

We aim to take preventive action in preference to reactive correction and are continually working to improve our environmental performance. Our success depends on the commitment from all employees and contractors of Bengalla’s operations.

Environmental Management Plans

Management Strategies, Plans and Monitoring Programmes are prepared as required by development consent/project approval conditions.

The Management Strategies and Plans have been developed with an understanding of the environmental areas that need to be managed and the results of the environmental assessments, including those required for approval.
