Late last year, Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Dale Last MP, and Member for Condamine, Pat Weir MP visited New Acland Mine.

The visit was an opportunity for New Hope Group CEO, Rob Bishop, and New Acland Coal General Manager, Dave O’Dwyer to show Dale and Pat around site, including the Willeroo Pit and the coal stockpile.

New Hope supports the Government’s focus on implementing a more streamlined and decisive approvals process so that resources projects don’t get stuck on a never-ending approvals merry-go-round.

New Acland Coal endured an 18-year approvals process, despite the project stacking up environmentally, socially, and financially.

The Government’s efforts to support industry by expediting approvals while maintaining the necessary conditions to properly manage potential impacts on the environment and communities is a win for resources sector, regional Queensland, and jobs.
