New Hope Corporation Limited (ASX:NHC) (the Company or New Hope) has today released its full year results for the 2026 financial year.
The Company delivered another year of strong operational performance, with both saleable coal production and coal sales exceeding the upper end of guidance ranges. Production growth was supported by the continued ramp-up of New Acland Mine and a strong second half performance at Bengalla Mine.
The Group delivered an underlying EBITDA2 of $514.3 million, a 32.8 per cent decrease from the previous period. Net profit after tax totalled $161.0 million, a decrease of 63.4 per cent compared to the previous period. The decrease in net profit after tax is due to a combination of heightened costs associated with the increased prime overburden movement, coupled with increased depreciation associated with plant and equipment purchased to support the Bengalla Growth Project and to support the ramp up of New Acland Mine.
New Hope continues to generate strong operating cash flows through execution of its organic growth pipeline, disciplined cost control, and operational reliability.
Operations review
Bengalla Mine delivered a strong result for the 2026 financial year, following significant weather events across the Hunter region late in the 2025 financial year. The first half of the 2026 financial year reflected a period of recovery at Bengalla Mine, successfully re-aligning the pit sequence and returning to the 13.4Mtpa ROM production rate (100 per cent basis) in the second half of the year.
New Acland Mine continued its successful Stage 3 ramp-up during the 2026 financial year, achieving increased production and sales volumes while progressing development activities required to access the Manning Vale West pit.
