This aerial image showcases New Acland Mine’s Manning Vale East Pit in the foreground, and Willeroo Pit in the background.
The Manning Vale East Pit has played an important role in the mine’s return to production and ongoing operations. Since first coal was extracted from Stage 3 in September 2023, activity in the pit has included overburden removal, drill and blast works, coal extraction and progressive rehabilitation.
Our progressive rehabilitation program at New Acland, established in 2006, returns mined land to agricultural and conservation uses, contributing to the region’s agribusiness industry and re-establishing native species.
In FY25 New Acland rehabilitated 36 hectares of land, bringing the cumulative land rehabilitated to 743 hectares.
This image provides a striking perspective on the scale and progress of operations at New Acland Mine.
