New Hope Group commenced operating the New Acland open cut coal mine north-northwest of the Oakey Township in southeast Queensland’s Darling Downs region in 2002. The company has received relevant approvals for the New Acland Stage 3 Project and key to executing the Project is the installation of appropriate infrastructure.
New Acland Mine will work in partnership with contractors and suppliers to build key Stage 3 infrastructure, including a materials handling facility, train load out facility, rail lines, roads, bridges and dams. Skilled teams will also be needed to oversee key demolition and rehabilitation projects on site. When and where possible, New Hope Group’s preference is to buy local products and engage local contractors and suppliers. Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are being sought for a number of work packages as and when these packages are released. This page will be updated regularly as the project progresses.
